Diocese Promotes Care of Creation During Earth Week 2020

LEXINGTON — As the Catholic Church prepares to mark the fifth anniversary of Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for creation, Laudato Si, the Catholic Diocese of Lexington is commemorating Earth Week 2020 with reflections and other online content courtesy of the diocesan Laudato Si Commission.
“I am grateful for their work and encourage every member of our local Church to become engaged in the renewal and new life of a springtime and Easter for our planet,” Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv., of Lexington wrote in a letter posted to the diocesan website.

Resources are being shared throughout the week of April 20 to the diocese’s channel on Instagram: www.instagram.com/catholic_diocese_of_lexington
The Laudato Si Commission was established by Bishop Stowe in 2018 to promote Pope Francis’ teaching on care for the environment throughout eastern and central Kentucky.
